Hair today, gone tomorrow

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

So I recently learned about the ancient (but new-to-us) method of eyebrow threading as a way to remove hair that you don’t want anymore. Since my hair has never fallen all the way out from the chemo, I have been wondering if there is anything I can do to manage the situation more effectively. The problem is this: about half of my hair has already fallen out, I’ve gotten it buzzed really short, and about 14 days after each chemo treatment, a bunch of my hair “releases”….. which in my case means I can pull it out with my bare fingers while I’m reading (nervous habit) but it doesn’t fall out on its own. If I could understand the online instructions for how to twist the thread I would be tempted to try threading my whole head so I don’t look so patchy… and so I could do a nifty henna tattoo.

Blogosphere Down

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

It’s been at least four years since I’ve blogged anything. But now that I am embarked on the strangest adventure of my life (read: CANCER) and have a lot of time on my hands, it seems like a good time to get started again. This will be a place where I can record my fleeting thoughts, rants, and enthusiasms as they occur or at least as I feel like it.

And I promise, it won’t all be about CANCER. Though it probably won’t all be about rainbows and butterflies, either.

Bear with me as I learn how to do this again, and I’ll see you in the blogosphere.
